$21M Pink Diamond to Lead Sotheby’s Hong Kong Auction
A pink diamond ring will be the star of an upcoming jewelry sale at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, carrying a price estimate of up to HKD 168 million ($21.4 million).
The cushion-shaped, 10.05-carat, fancy-vivid-purplish-pink diamond, called The Pink Dawn, is from the Kao mine in Lesotho, Sotheby’s said last week. The jewel was manufactured from a 26-carat rough found in the fall of 2020. It will feature in an April 4 auction, named Magnificent Jewels: Part I, and will lead a series of sales to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong division.
Sotheby’s will also hold a special sale on April 5 called the 50th Anniversary Luxury Evening Auction, while Magnificent Jewels: Part II will take place online from March 30 to April 12.
